There are two distinct ways to learn at IDEO U — On-Demand and Cohort courses.
On-Demand
On-Demand courses are shorter learning experiences that you can enroll in at any time. They take anywhere from 2-10 hours to complete, and you are granted 90 days of access from the date and time of purchase. You can go through the class material at your own pace, referring back to the material throughout the access dates. There is no community component in on-demand courses.
Cohort
5-week cohort courses run on a calendar schedule throughout the year, and you can enroll directly into the course dates that work best with your schedule. Courses are self-paced within the start and end dates. We offer a recommended weekly lesson plan and suggested deadlines to keep you on track throughout the course, but you can work at the pace that suits your schedule. We typically recommend devoting 5 hours a week to the course material to get the most from your experience. Ultimately everything is due on the course close date. Courses include a teaching team to provide feedback and spur online discussion among the greater community of learners.
